What is pipe relining?
Pipe relining is a "trenchless" repair. Instead of excavating, a plumber inserts a resin-saturated liner into the damaged pipe through an existing access point, inflates it, and cures it in place. The result is a strong new pipe formed inside the old one, essentially a seamless plastic sleeve bonded to the original. No trenches, no jackhammering your driveway.
What is pipe replacement?
Pipe replacement is the traditional method: excavate down to the damaged section, remove the old pipe, lay new pipe, then backfill and reinstate the surface. It's the go-to when a pipe is too far gone to reline, badly collapsed, severely misaligned, or missing sections entirely.
